Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: HSA's working within the district, male or female. Frontline workers working within the specified districts working within a specified health post

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: HSA's working within the district but arising from a different catchment area that did not align with the trained frontline workers. Frontline workers and HSA's who would no longer be assigned to the area within the duration of the study period.

Primary

MeasureTime frame
1.To compare the number of women presenting for breast health evaluation at district/referral hospitals before and after HSA training. 2.To compare the number of newly diagnosed breast cancer cases before and after the intervention. 3.To compare the stage at diagnosis of breast cancer (early stage I/II vs late stage III/IV) before and after the intervention.

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
1. To compare post-intervention outcomes between: Chikwawa District: HSA training on breast cancer awareness, referral, and CBE training. Thyolo District: HSA training on breast cancer awareness and referral 2. To assess implementation outcomes including acceptability, feasibility, and fidelity of the intervention.
