Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Diet quality, will be measured by Food group Diversity Score (FGDS) using the food groups as defined in the Minimum Dietary Diversity for Women (MDD-W). Diet data will be collected using the Diet Quality-Questionnaire (DQ-Q), a standardized rapid dietary assessment tool that records consumption of 29 food groups over the previous 24 hours using simple yes/no questions. From this data, we will derive the FGDS, the MDDW, the All 5, and the Global Dietary Recommendation (GDR) total, healthy and unhealthy scores, which together assess how well adolescents' diet aligns with inter/national dietary guidelines related to noncommunicable disease (NCD) prevention.

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
Knowledge of healthy diets will be measured using the COM-B model, a popular framework for examining the capabilities - individuals' psychological and physical capacity to engage in the behavior, opportunities - all external variables, including physical and social ones, that enable or prompt behavior, and motivations - all the brain processes that energies and directs behavior, not just goals and conscious decision-making. The COM-B domains are based on the guidelines' major themes, which include food groups, recommended dietary diversity, serving size/portion, foods to limit, and physical activity.
