Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: Patients between 18 and 60 years old penign thyroid disease and failed medical management with the indication for thyroidectomy
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: patients above 60 years old patients with hypocalcemia or hypoparathyroidism renal impairment major cardiac diseases G6PD deficiency pregnant patients patients unfit for general surgery patients with methylene blue allergies patients having received monoamine oxidase (MAO) inhibitors like isocarboxazid, tranylcypromine, and phenelzine (because methylene blue is a potent inhibitor of MAO and, in combination with serotonergic agents, can produce serotonin toxicity in the perioperative period).
