Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: All consenting patients Age range between 18 and 65 years . American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA) classification I to III scheduled for emergency exploratory laparotomy under general anaesthesia.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Patient’s refusal to participate in the study, Pregnanct patient Patient with epatic or renal disease Prior treatment with calcium channel blockers Opioid analgesic abusers Patients with known allergy to magnesium sulphate .
