Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1.Patients scheduled for elective lumbar spine under general anesthesia. 2. American Society of Anesthesiologists physical status (ASA) grades I, II. 3. Age 18 to 65 years old. 4. Both sex.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Patient refusal. 2. Neuromuscular diseases. 3. Hematological diseases, bleeding or coagulation abnormality. 4. Local skin infection and sepsis at site of the block. 5. Known allergy to the study drugs. 6. Unstable cardiovascular condition. 7. Multi-traumatized patients 8. Patients on opioid analgesics or opioid abuse. 9. Obese patients (BMI >35) 10. Patient with abnormal renal functions,

cumulative fentanyl consumption during the first 24 hours after surgery.
