Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: subjects with hepatic steatosis, which was confirmed by ultrasonography with acceptable sensitivity and specificity and was based on hepatic triglyceride content greater than 5%

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Patients with alcohol consumption. Pregnant or lactating women. Patients with ischemic heart disease, heart failure, chronic inflammatory diseases, hepatitis B and C, cancer, moderate-to-severe kidney disease, uncontrolled hypertensio or eating disorders. Patients with a history of bariatric surgery and those on insulin due to increased risk of hypoglycemia.
