Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: clinically and radiographically diagnosed with primary knee osteoarthritis

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: • Autoimmune or inflammatory arthropathies (e.g., rheumatoid arthritis, systemic lupus erythematosus, seronegative spondyloarthropathies, gout). • Arthropathies secondary to infection, malignancy, or trauma. • History of previous knee surgery or fracture. • Pregnancy. • Age below 18 years.

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Pain intensity measured using the Visual Analogue Scale (VAS), and functional status assessed using the Western Ontario and McMaster Universities Osteoarthritis Index (WOMAC), evaluated at baseline and after 12 weeks of intervention.

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
Radiographic knee joint parameters, clinical examination findings (swelling, tenderness, crepitus, range of motion), and quadriceps muscle strength
