Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Institutionalised adolescents with hearing impairment ascertained from school records. 2. Adolescents within the age bracket of 10-19 years ascertained from school records. 3. Obtained consent/assent.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Adolescents with hearing impairment who use a hearing aid. 2. Adolescents with special healthcare needs other than hearing impairment (ascertained by parent/legal guardian and school record). 3. Adolescents with hearing impairment who lack comprehension of sign language, ascertained by class teachers. 4. Adolescents with hearing impairment who have visited a dentist or attended an oral health education/promotion program in the last 6 months. 5. Adolescents with hearing impairment who have uncontrolled underlying systemic conditions such as sickle cell anaemia, epilepsy, and diabetes. 6. Adolescents with hearing impairment who are uncooperative. 7. Adolescents with hearing impairment on antibiotics.
