Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: All critically ill children admitted to PICU with age range from one month to 14 years.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Patient with mouth lesion on admission. Immunodeficient and surgical patient.

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
PICU mortality. Incidence of Ventilator Associated Condition (VAC) and Ventilator associated Pneumonia (VAP). Development of Oral health status dysfunction. Possible allergy, rash, edema and anaphylaxis.

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
Length of mechanical ventilation. Length of PICU stay. Development of acquired nosocomial infection and sepsis other than VAP.
