Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1)Patients aged 1 month to 14 years 2) Gender : both sexes will be included 3)Admission to the PICU with severe hypertriglyceridemia (> 1000 mg/dl) or HTG-induced pancreatitis 4)Informed consent obtained

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Patients with the following conditions: 1- Diabetic ketoacidosis 2- Obesity 3- Hypothyroidism 4- Renal and hepatic disorders.

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Evaluate the efficacy of insulin infusion in the treatment of severe pediatric hypertriglyceridemia; Evaluate the prevalence of pancreatitis based on prior attacks as reported in medical history and during hospital stay

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
Assess the frequency of relapse and complications within one-year post-discharge ;Assess the role of pediatric intensive care units in the therapeutic regimen for treatment of severe hypertriglyceridemia.
