Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: i. Parturient in active phase of labour ii.Patients who will give informed consent to the study. iii.Term Gestation iv.Singleton pregnancy v.Cephalic presentation vi.Absence of contraindication to vaginal delivery

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: i.Patients with fetal malpresentation ii.Hypersensitivity to metoclopramide iii.Contraindications to vaginal delivery iv.Severe renal or liver disease, seizure disorder or depression.

The primary outcome measure will be the duration of the first stage of labour.	—

Duration of the second and third stages of labour, maternal drug side effects and APGAR scores of the neonates.	—
