Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: (I) Male or female patients aged 19–80 years. (II) A diagnosis of HCC with cirrhosis confirmed by postoperative pathology. (III) A preoperative evaluation confirming the feasibility of HCC resection. (IV) Totally Laparoscopic Liver Resection (V) Cases which were converted from Laparoscopic to open technique. (VI) The hybrid technique for minimally invasive liver resection.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: (I) Benign Lesions. (II) non-cirrhotic liver. (III) Malignant non-HCC lesions confirmed by postoperative pathology. (IV) Lesions near the major hepatic veins, inferior vena cava, and hepatic hilum. (V) Evidence of severe portal hypertension. (VI) Presence of coagulopathy and thrombocytopenia. (VII) Patients underwent only laparoscopic assessment.

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
The primary outcome includes Postoperative morbidity including post-hepatectomy liver failure, bile leakage, intraperitoneal hemorrhage, gastrointestinal tract bleeding, ascites, pleural effusion, surgical site infections (superficial, organ, and deep), and wound dehiscence will be included.

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
Secondary outcomes include postoperative mortality, which is defined as death within 90 days after liver resection, operative time, and hospital stay.
