Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Adult patients (=18 years) Both sexes Diagnosed with septic shock according to Sepsis-3 criteria Admitted to the ICU and receiving initial fluid resuscitation

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Pregnant females Patients in whom capillary refill time cannot be reliably assessed (e.g., Raynaud’s syndrome, severe hypothermia) Patients with active bleeding Patients with liver cirrhosis Patients with acute severe respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) Patients requiring surgical intervention within the first 6 hours of admission

ICU mortality in patients with septic shock, and its association with macrovascular markers (mean arterial pressure, heart rate, central venous pressure), microvascular markers (capillary refill time, peripheral perfusion index), and metabolic markers (serum lactate level and lactate clearance) during initial fluid resuscitation.
