Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: 1. Adult patients, aged between 18 to 70 years. 2. Both sexes 3. Patient spontaneously breathing with the diagnosis of sepsis or septic shock 4. Require fluid resuscitation as part of their management. 5. Patient with hypotension (defined as mean arterial pressure (MAP) <65mm Hg)
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1. Age < 18 years. 2. History of heart disease (e.g. valvular, myopathy, ischemic). 3. History of hepatic or End-stage renal disease,. 4. Evidence of pulmonary embolism or dysrhythmias. 5. severe anemia, pregnancy 6. Patients unable to lie supine or requiring mechanical ventilation. 7. Patients admitted with sever Burn 8. difficulty in getting an adequate echocardiography window [morbidly obese (BMI=40 kg/m2)] and chest wall trauma, were precluded from the study
