Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: i) public health facilities categorised as per the Kenya Essential Package for Health (KEPH) level 3 or 4 situated within the two counties in western Kenya; ii) preference for selecting health facilities with ongoing (or historical) surveillance activities, with a primary focus on out-patient departments; iii) health facilities with a minimum of 300 patients registered annually; iv) agreement of health facility in charges to participate in surveillance

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: i) health facilities in-charges that decline to participate in surveillance; ii) health facilities that are hard to reach during the rainy season

MeasureTime frame
Test positivity rate (TPR), defined as the proportion of patients of all ages with fever who undergo malaria testing (by microscopy or rapid diagnostic test) and receive a positive result
