Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Are registered undergraduate nursing students at Mzuzu University, ensuring alignment with the target study population. Are allocated to the paediatric clinical placement during the study period, as the intervention takes place in paediatric wards. Voluntarily consent to participate in the study.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Have a documented pattern of persistent absenteeism from clinical placements, as this may limit exposure to the intervention and affect data completeness. Known or self-reported mental health conditions that may interfere with participation or reflective activities, to protect student well-being and avoid confounding related to anxiety or confidence. Already qualified nurses (upgrading to the BSc program), as their prior clinical experience may differ significantly from generic students and introduce bias.
