Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: • Age from 18 to 65 years. • Both sexes. • Patients fulfilled the current Diagnostic and Statistical Manual (DSM-IV) criteria for obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD). • Yale-Brown Obsessive Compulsive Scale (Y-BOCS) score = 24. • Prominent agitation and irritability.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: • Organic brain syndrome. • Abuse of alcohol, sedatives or illicit drugs. • Presence of any delusional disorders. • Complicating current axis II diagnosis from clusters A or B, or a current axis III diagnosis with brain pathology, such as moderate or marked atrophy, stroke, tumor or a history of previous neurosurgical procedures that might produce complications.
