Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Adults =18 years Radiologically confirmed liver abscess (US/CT/MRI) Abscess =3 cm, symptomatic, or not responding to antibiotics Solitary or multiple abscesses accessible laparoscopically Failed or contraindicated percutaneous drainage, or primary laparoscopic drainage offered

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Uncorrected coagulopathy (INR >1.5 or platelets <50×10?/L) Hemodynamic instability or septic shock unresponsive to resuscitation Diffuse peritonitis requiring immediate open surgery Extensive hepatic necrosis or malignancy precluding laparoscopic approach Severe cardiopulmonary disease making pneumoperitoneum unsafe

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Complete clinical and radiological resolution of the liver abscess within 90 days after laparoscopic intervention, without need for further drainage.

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
Technical success of laparoscopic drainage, major complication rate within 30 days, abscess recurrence within 6 months, need for additional intervention (repeat or open drainage), length of hospital stay, time to clinical improvement (fever/CRP/WBC normalization), operative time and blood loss, postoperative pain and analgesic use.
