Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: All adults aged 18 years and above patients who presented to the study centers during the study period, for an emergency laparotomy and consented to participate in the study

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: who presented to the hospital with for Emergency laparotomy but having poly trauma requiring any other surgery, patients with known advanced intra-abdominal malignancy, head injury, known bleeding disorders, reoperation within same admission or within 30 days, severe sepsis or septic shock.
