Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: The age range for LSG will be 16 to 65 years, Morbid obesity [defined as a body mass index (BMI) of more than 40 or more than 35 with at least one comorbidity].

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Patient’s refusal. 2. patients below the age of 16 or over 65 years, 3. Pregnancy 4. Inflammatory bowel disease, and those with 5. BMI more than 60, patients with a history of alcohol or drug addiction 6. Chronic opioid use, uncontrolled hypertension, a first-degree heart block, and allergies to pethidine, and patients developed postoperative complications that required re-exploration 7. Patients had a history of allergy to ondansterone

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
•Pain scores during rest will be assessed by NRS at 0, 2, 4, 6, 12, and 24-hour postoperative time points.

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
• 24-hour postoperative opioid consumption ;• Duration of analgesia (time until first rescue analgesia). ;• The severity of PONV was evaluated using a 4-point categorical scale (0=none, 1=mild, 2=moderate, 3=severe)
