Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: - male sex - age 14 to 16 years - normal weight according to the WHO child growth standards for BMI (BMI = 85th percentile) - parental approval

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: - withdrawal of consent - non-compliance with the training program - incomplete data - current or recent (within 3 months) dietary restriction or dietary supplementation

Primary

MeasureTime frame
The HIIT progrma resulted in a significant increase in VO2max, testosterone levels, and testosterone-to-cortisol ratio, and a significant decrease in stress and anxiety scores in adolescent males

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
Plasma cortisol showed a trend toward a decrease in the training group, which was associated with improvements in stress, anxiety, and depression.
