Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: All PLHIV aged 18 and over followed in the day service of the Yaoundé central hospital; For the prospective cohort, we will include all hypertensive PLHIV aged 18 and over registered for HIV care at the Yaoundé central hospital day service who made at least one visit to the clinic between October 1, 2023 and February 28, 2024

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Pregnant women: the diagnosis of pregnancy will be made thanks to the biological pregnancy test in non-menopausal patients who did not know the date of their last menstrual period; PLHIV who refuse to accept the study

Primary outcome. The primary outcome was blood pressure (BP) control at month 2 (M2), defined as systolic BP <140 mmHg and diastolic BP <90 mmHg. A sensitivity analysis used a stricter threshold of <130/80 mmHg for participants with diabetes or chronic kidney disease when those data were available.	—

Secondary outcomes included change in systolic and diastolic BP from baseline (M0) to M2; screening coverage (=1 BP measurement per eligible visit); correct cardiovascular risk stratification according to the study algorithm (yes/no); initiation or intensification of antihypertensive therapy when indicated (yes/no); medication adherence (categorical or score-based); behavioral outcomes using structured scores (dietary salt reduction, physical activity, alcohol/tobacco use); and WHO cardiovascular risk categories. Measurements were obtained using validated oscillometric devices (Omron M6), standardized case-report forms, and pre-tested structured questionnaires (validated tools were used when available).
