Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Age between 18-60 years ASA II or III Scheduled for partial or hemi-glossectomy

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Emergency cases or advanced tumors requiring awake fiberoptic intubation Pregnancy or lactation Known sensitivity or contraindication to drug used in the study (opioids, dexmedetomidine) Acute or chronic renal failure Compromised cardiovascular function Severe respiratory disorder Severe deranged liver function ASA IV Hemodynamic instability Uncontrolled systemic disease Use of alpha blockers Heart rate below 55 beats/min
