Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: - 6-48 months - MUAC <115mm, - WHZ <-3SD - bilateral pitting oedema without medical complications

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: -prior inpatient SAM treatment - chronic or congenital conditions that could affect growth or food intake, - residence outside the study area

Measure	Time frame
the study’s primary outcome was the absolute difference in SAM recovery and the corresponding risk ratio for iCCM+ vs OTP treated children. Recovery for both arms was defined as a MUAC = 125mm, a WHZ = –2SD, and no nutritional oedema.	—

Measure	Time frame
Secondary outcomes were the difference between the control and intervention groups with regards to length of stay in SAM treatment, time to recovery and, changes in anthropometric measurements during treatment.	—
