Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Adult patients of both genders, aged between 18 and 70 years 2. American society of Anesthesiologists (ASA) physical status II and III 3. Elective cardiac single valve replacement surgery with cardiopulmonary bypass (CPB) time less than 1 hour

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Repeated (redo) cardiac surgery 2. Emergency cardiac surgery 3. Combined valve replacement and CABG surgery 4. Patients with the need for re-exploration surgery 5. Patients on high pre and/or intraoperative inotropic support 6. Impaired systolic function (ejection fraction 2) 8. Patients with uncontrolled diabetes mellitus (HbA1C > 8%) 9. Patients with renal impairment (serum creatinine > 2 mg/dL) 10. Patients with advanced hepatic impairment (Child-Pugh C) 11. Patients with advanced chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) 12. Body mass index (BMI) > 40 kg/m2 13. Pregnant patients 14. Known allergy to any of the medications that will be used in this study
