Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: American society of Anesthiology Physical Status Classification System (ASA) physical status I and II Co-operative patients and willing for the procedure
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: Pregnant or lactating females. Patients with body mass index BMI more than 35 kg per m2. Patients with ASA physical status III and IV. Patients on therapy with adrenergic receptor antagonist, calcium channel blocker and or ACE inhibitors. Concomitant cardiovascular disease. Documented coagulation abnormality or abnormal bleeding history. Evidence of infection or anatomic abnormality at the proposed catheter insertion site. Difficult epidural placement, inadvertent epidural puncture (wet tap). History of hypersensitivity to drugs used in the study. Emergency operation. Failed block or need for induction of general anesthesia. Patients who have received opioids 24 hours before catheter insertion. Patient refusal or unable to give informed voluntary consent.
