Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Male or female patients -Age ranged from 18 to 75 years old. -Newly diagnosed patients with cancer and with an indication for cisplatin -based chemotherapy. -Patients who scheduled to receive at least four to six cycles of cisplatin. -Patients with no previous renal diseases (including acute nephropathy, acute and chronic renal failure) and taking no kidney -related drugs. -Patients with normal hepatic and renal function (bilirubin =1.2mg/dL, creatinine =1.5 mg/dL)

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Hypersensitivity to febuxostat. -Any condition that contraindicates chemotherapy (i.e., pregnancy, lactation). -Acute renal failure or renal surgery within the last 3 months. -Patients with known history or current treatment with nephrotoxic agents. - Subject receiving radiation. -Patients with diabetes mellitus. -Patients with any liver disease methods
