Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: • All pregnant women who have indications for induction of labour at a gestational age of at least 34 weeks • Women that are primigravida to para 3 • Patients who are informed, counselled and consented to participate in the study

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: • All patients with multiple gestations • Those who did not consent • Those with previous caesarean section • Those with precious uterine scar • Antepartum haemorrhage • Patients with uncontrolled medical conditions, e.g. hypertension, sickle cell disease, diabetes • Intrauterine foetal death • Prom
