Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: -All male or female nurses assigned to and working at the targeted General Referral Hospital. - Nurses with systolic blood pressure = 140 mmHg and/or diastolic blood pressure = 90 mmHg, or previously diagnosed as hypertensive by a healthcare professional, even if their blood pressure is within normal range at the time of enrollment. -Nurses who have provided informed consent to participate in the study.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: -Auxiliary nurses (A3 level). -Pregnant nurses. -Nurses older than 65 years. -Nurses unable to respond to questions or participate in the program due to disability.

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Proportion of nurses with controlled blood pressure. The intervention aims to achieve a significant increase in the proportion of nurses with controlled blood pressure, from 40% at baseline (T0) to 60% after the intervention (T1), corresponding to an expected absolute gain of 20 percentage points.

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
1. Proportion of nurses with a reduction in mean systolic blood pressure. The expected effect is a decrease of 5 mmHg, which has been shown to reduce the risk of major cardiovascular events by 10%, regardless of baseline blood pressure or prior cardiovascular history (Blood Pressure Lowering Treatment Trialists’ Collaboration, Lancet, 2021;397:1625-36). 2. Proportion of nurses with reduced job strain. 3. Proportion of nurses with reduced burnout. 4. Proportion of nurses with improved knowledge of hypertension.
