Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: age from 6 months - 5 years both sexes Asa 2-3 elective cardiac surgery with guardian approval weight : 5-16 kg height : within normal range of this age ( fifth to 95th percentile in weight for height growth chart) from 5 months to 6 years

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: INR> 1.4 , platelets < 100000/mm3 patoents with hepatic or renal disorder redo surgery emergency procedure hypersensitivity to local anathesiaand opioids infection at the site of the block injection known history of cheat disease guardian refusal

To compare ultrasound guided bilateral erector spinea plane block versus fentanyl infusion in early extubation in pediatric cardiac surgery the primary outcome is time elapsed for extubation in both groups
