Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: ? Age from 18 to 60 years undergoing arthroscopic knee surgery. ? American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA) physical status I and II.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: ? ASA III and ASA IV. ? Patients with history of mental disorders affecting pain score assessment. ? Patients with the recent use of opioids due to chronic pain therapy, neuropathic or chronic pain. ? Patients who were unable to give consent, ? Coagulopathy, use of anticoagulant or anti platelet therapy. ? Infection at site of injection. ? Allergy to local anesthesia.

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
The time interval postoperative after which there is requirement for first supplemental dose of rescue analgesia (5mg morphine) when VAS score to be 5 or more.

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
-Pain score: VAS used for record pain score at 0,2,6,12,18,24 hours postoperative. -Motor block of lower limb will be assessed using Bromage score at 2, 4, 8, 12, and 24 hours post-operatively will be evaluated as follows: no motor nerve block=0 point; able to move feet and knee=1 point; able to move feet only=2 points; and inability to move hip, knee or feet=3 points
