Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Time to Achieve Target Blood Glucose Levels Description: Number of days taken to reach blood glucose levels within the target range (110–149 mg/dL) Time Frame: Up to 7 days from ICU admission Measurement Method: Blood glucose monitoring records Mean Blood Glucose Levels Over Time Description: Comparison of average blood glucose levels across five measurement points post-baseline Time Frame: Within the ICU stay (1–7 days) Measurement Method: Capillary blood glucose measurements using glucometer Length of ICU Stay Description: Total number of days patients remained in the ICU Time Frame: From ICU admission to discharge Measurement Method: ICU admission and discharge records

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
Frequency of Blood Glucose Monitoring Description: Number of blood glucose readings taken during ICU stay Time Frame: During entire ICU admission Measurement Method: Nursing records/logs of glucose monitoring Protocol Adherence Rate Description: Percentage of adherence to the nurse-led insulin protocol steps Time Frame: During intervention period in ICU Measurement Method: Protocol adherence checklists/audit forms
