Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria:                    i.            Sex: both sexes.                  ii.            Age: over 60               iii.            Unstable intertrochanteric femoral fractures

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria:                     i.       Stable intertrochanteric fractures                   ii.       Unstable intertrochanteric fractures with subtrochanteric extension                 iii.       Associated hip pathology.                 iv.       Bedridden or immobile patients                   v.       Pathological fractures secondary to malignant disease.                 vi.       Previous ipsilateral hip surgeries Extreme anteroposterior femoral bowing or deformity
