Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1- 21 – 60 years of either sex. 2- Diabetic patients with American Society of Anaesthesiologists (ASA) physical status II–III who will be scheduled for short non laparoscopic surgery.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1- Patients with significant cardiac disease (need cardiac support). 2- Severe hepatic impairment (INR = 1.5, Bilirubin = 2, Albumin = 2). 3- Renal dysfunction (GFR < 50ml/min). 4- Psychiatric disorder, neuromuscular or neurological diseases. 5- Coagulopathy. 6- Pregnancy. 7- Body mass index (BMI) = 35 kg/m2. 8- Patient receiving adrenoceptor agonists or antagonists. 9- Refusal of the patients. 10- Severe respiratory disease (need mechanical ventilation or need respiratory support).
