Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: ? Age: Adults (40-70) years. ? Degenerative lumbar stenosis confirmed by MRI requiring decompression. ? Neurogenic claudications and/or radiculopathy (VAS=4) . ? Failure of conservative treatment for a minimum of six months .

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: ? Prior surgery at same spinal level. ? Infection or malignancy of spine. ? Segmental instability. ? Degenerative scoliosis with cobb’s angle more than 20 degrees.

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Primary outcome is improvement in leg pain and low back pain using visual analogue score Complications will be recorded and managed either intraoperative or postoperative. Surgical procedure time frame will be evaluated from the start till the end of wound closure.

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
Functional outcomes using Oswetery disability index and modified Mc Nab criteria
