Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1.Patients presenting with acetabular fractures involving both columns according to Letournel & Judet’s classification8 (Transverse fractures, T-shaped fractures, Anterior column with posterior hemitransverse fractures or both column fractures) 2.Patients fit for surgery 3.Closed fractures.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Patients presenting with acetabular fractures involving a single column or wall either anterior or posterior. 2. Patients unfit for surgery. 3. Open acetabular fractures. 4. Previous surgery on the affected hip.

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Accuracy of fracture reduction is assessed on the immediate postoperative X ray according to Matta criteria

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
Functional outcome according to Modified Merle D’Aubigne score;Final radiological outcome is assessed according to matta radiological scoring system;Assessment of complications such as secondary displacement, avascular necrosis of the femoral head, heterotopic ossification nonunion & development of secondary arthritis.
