Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: • Female patients aged between 18-65 years. • ASA physical status I or II. • Scheduled for elective unilateral modified radical mastectomy.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: • Patient refusal. • Infection at the site of injection. • Hypersensitivity to the local anesthetic. • Bleeding disorders. • Patients with cardiac, hepatic, and renal failure. • BMI = 40 kg/m2.

time of first analgesic request during 48 hours postoperative

MeasureTime frame
• The total analgesic requirements during the first 24 hours postoperatively .• Postoperative visual analog score (VAS) at 0, 2, 4, 6, 8, 12, 16, 24 hours postoperatively. • Hemodynamics (blood pressure, heart rate, oxygen saturation): Intra-operative at 0, 15, 30 mintues then every 30 mintues. Postoperative: at 0, 2 hours. • Intra-operative and 24 hours postoperative complications (bradycardia, tachycardia, nausea and vomiting, pneumothorax, hypertension and hypotension). Intra-operative fentanyl consumption dermatomal distribution
