Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Pregnant women who were for elective caesarean section at term irrespective of the number of fetuses and whether the caesarean section was primary or repeat. 2. Patients who had a caesarean section with subarachnoid block as a mode of anesthesia with only heavy Bupivacaine.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Non-consent 2. History of opioid dependency 3. Cardiopulmonary depression 4. History of chronic liver or renal diseases 5. Known allergy to pentazocine 6. Known allergy to bupivacaine and diclofenac 7. Presence of diabetes mellitus 8. Sickle cell disease 9. Patients who had another form of intraoperative anesthesia other than with subarachnoid block using only heavy bupivacaine
