Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: Inclusion Criteria • Women aged 18 years and above • Undergoing elective caesarean section • Willing and able to provide written informed consent • Resident within Abuja to ensure follow-up compliance
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: Exclusion Criteria • Presence of fever or systemic infection during labour • Known immunosuppression (e.g., HIV with CD4 < 200) • Severe medical or obstetric complications (e.g., eclampsia, ASA class =3) • Rupture of membrane longer than 6 hours • Requirement for additional procedures (e.g., hysterectomy, bowel repair) • Intra-operative glove perforation
