Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: All consenting pregnant women with SPE and Eclampsia during antepartum and intrapartum period.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Pregnant women with serious medical disorders such as hepatic, cardiovascular, renal diseases, epilepsy, uncontrolled diabetes mellitus, sickle cell disease etc. 2. Eclamptic patients in critical condition with hypotension and low respiratory rate (<14 breaths/min, oliguria <25ml/hour and hypotonia). 3. Women with other obstetric complication like antepartum hemorrhage. 4. Gestational age <34weeks 5. Pregnant women who received MgS04 before presentation.

1. Maternal complications (Acute renal failure, gluteal abscess, duration of hospital stay, admission to ICU and mortality) 2. MgS04 toxicity 3. Mean Apgar Score at 5 min 4. Admission to and duration of stay in SCBU 5. Perinatal mortality
