Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: The study subjects all children with surgical conditions operated on and managed on the Pediatric Surgery ward over the study period will include

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. All children who are operated on by ambulatory surgery. 2. All children who undergo hypospadias or epispadias repair. 3. All the children who undergo trans-anal pull-through or abdomino-perineal pull-through. 4. All children operated on as in-patients but managed on wards other than the B3 ward. 5. All children with severe jaundice. 6. All children who have known allergies to an assigned medication. 7. All children with severe malnutrition. 8. All children whose guardians decline to consent to the study.
