Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: ? adult patients (aged 18 years or older) ? symptomatic acute ALP poisoning ? admitted within 12 hours of exposure
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: ? Patients aged less than 18 years old ? Patients died shortly after admission ? Patients with pre-existing chronic diseases (e.g. cardiovascular disease, renal or hepatic failure, diabetes, and chronic pulmonary disease) ? Patients with combined drug or chemical compound ingestion in addition to ALP ? Patients who received any medical intervention before admission ? Pregnant and lactating women ? Patients with known hypersensitivity to NAC or using it for other diseases ? Patients receiving chemotherapeutic drugs or warfarin treatment
