Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Inclusion criteria 1. Children aged 4-9years. 2. Children of parents or caregivers who give their written informed consent and are willing to participate in the study. 3. Children with at least one primary molar requiring pulpotomy treatment. Affected molars must have deep caries without spontaneous pain, absence of clinical and radiographic evidence of pulpal degeneration with no mobility, no associated abscess or swelling, no sign of pathologic root resorption, furcation or peri-apical radioluscencies, restorable with a stainless-steel crown and presence of less than one third physiologic root resorption.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Exclusion criteria 1. Symptomatic primary molars with deep caries. 2. Primary molar teeth not restorable with stainless steel crowns. 3. Primary molar teeth with more than one third physiologic root resorption. 4. Uncooperative children, extremely anxious patients and those with special healthcare needs.

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Clinical outcomes will incluse absence of pain, abscess, mobility or fistula, while radiographic outcomes will include absence of pathologic root resorption, furcation and periapical radioluscencies and presence of a normal periodontal ligament space.
