Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Diagnosed with type 2 diabetes mellitus 2. Stable on oral hypoglycemic agents or insulin for at least six months. 3. Willing to adhere to the intervention for the duration of the study.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Pregnant or lactating women. 2. Patients with severe comorbidities, such as renal or hepatic failure. 3. Patients with known allergies to gooseberries.

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Change in fasting blood glucose levels from baseline to 12 weeks.

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
Change in HbA1c levels, patient adherence, dietary intake and any reported side effects.
