Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Female track athletes between the ages of 18 - 30 years who are registered undergraduate students of College of Medicine, University of Lagos. Male track athletes between the ages of 18 - 30 years who are registered undergraduate students of College of Medicine, University of Lagos.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Post graduate track athletes. Track athletes with disabilities. Track athletes that do not consent to participate in the study.

Power: It is defined as the rate at which work is done or energy is transferred. It is a measure of the amount of energy that is used or produced over a given period of time.

Anxiety: Anxiety is an emotion characterized by feelings of tension, worried thoughts and physical changes like increased blood pressure. People with anxiety disorders usually have recurring intrusive thoughts or concerns. They may avoid certain situations out of worry. They may also have physical symptoms such as sweating, trembling, dizziness or rapid heartbeat. Depression: A negative affective state, ranging from unhappiness and discontent to an extreme feeling of sadness, pessimism, and despondency, that interferes with daily life. Various physical, cognitive, and social changes also tend to co-occur, including altered eating or sleeping habits, lack of energy or motivation, difficulty concentrating or making decisions, and withdrawal from social activities. Sleep Disorder: Disorders of sleep-wakefulness cycles, including insomnia, sleep apnoea, narcolepsy, restless legs syndrome, and other disorders of sleep-wakefulness cycles, such as circadian rhythm sleep disorders and sleep-related eating disorders.
