Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Pediatric patients of American Society of Anesthesiologists physical status I–II. 2. Age of 1-6 yrs. 3. Pediatric patients undergoing open surgery specially abdominal and pelvic surgeries, and the duration of operation should be <2 hrs.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Patients with respiratory and cardiovascular diseases. 2. Patients undergoing laparoscopic surgeries, and patients undergoing chest surgeries.

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Number of deviated values from the normal end tidal co2 in the 1st hr.

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
the initial end Tidal CO2 mean value. Number of trials to readjust end tidal CO2 .Dynamic compliance. Postoperative complication like: respiratory distress and hypoxia.
