Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: Uncontrolled systolic and/or diastolic hypertension: SBP = 135 and/or DBP = 85 mmHg in AMT at home; Known or new-onset hypertension; Already treated or untreated hypertension; Age between 35 and 75 years old; Male or female gender; White race; Affiliation with health insurance or ability to purchase antihypertensive medication; Informed, dated and signed consent of the patient to participate in the study.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: Hypertensive emergency; Pregnant woman; Desire to become pregnant in the next twelve (12) months; Breastfeeding; Woman of childbearing age not using appropriate contraception for at least 3 months before the inclusion visit; Known or possible secondary hypertension with clinical or paraclinical signs in favor of secondary hypertension; Clinically proven chronic heart failure (NYHA class III or IV) or EF 14 drinks/week; Other serious diseases: evidence of hematological, immunological, respiratory, renal, hepatic, gastrointestinal, endocrinological, metabolic, neurological, malignant, psychiatric or other disorders or diseases, revealed by medical history, physical examination and/or laboratory tests; Charlson comorbidity index = 2.
