Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: All patients over the age of 18 years ( Minimum age is 18 years old ) patients who had Functional endoscopic sinus surgery for either nasal polyps or chronic sinusitis at our hospitals were invited to participate.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: studied cases had been excludedfor having asymmetric nasal disease if there was a discrepancy among the sides of more than 3 points. patients on Systemic corticosteroid usage 4 weeks before surgery patients untreated or poorly managed hypertension patients who had history of hypersensitivity to lidocaine hydrochloride history of bleeding disorders patients were on aspirin, anticoagulants, or herbal remedies in four weeks before surgery
