Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1- Children aged between 2 to 12 years . 2- American Society of Anesthesiologists physical status?& ? . 3- Elective open cardiac surgery via median sternotomy.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1- Repeated cardiac surgery . 2-Emergency surgery. 3-Intubated patients 4- Bleeding disorders.

MeasureTime frame
The total dose of fentanyl consumption in the firstpostoperative 24 hours.

Postoperative pain score at rest, that was assessedby modified objective pain discomfort score(MOPS).in children;1. Analgesic effects of a single shot ultrasound-guided bilateral Mid-Transverse Process to PleuralBlock and Thoracic paravertebral block onhemodynamic responses to sternotomy includingHeart rate (HR) and invasive mean arterial pressure(MAP;Total intraoperative fentanyl requirements;Time to first rescue analgesia;Intensive care unit (ICU) length of stay.
