Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Pregnant women between 37-42 weeks gestation in reproductive age group (15-49 years) of any tribe, language, religion or parity who are already being planned or booked for Caeserean section (primary, repeat) with Pfannenstiel incision under spinal anaesthesia

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Participants booked for caesarean section not using spinal anaesthesia 2. Previous Caesarean section not using Pfannenstiel incision 3. Clinical signs of infection at the time of Caesarean section 4. Previous Caesarean section that healed by secondary intention 5. Prolonged labour 6. Prolonged Prom 7. Uncontrolled diabetis 8. Obese Participant with paniculous abdomen 9. History of keloid, known hypersensitivity to any of the study material 10. Any disorder requiring chronic corticorsteroids or immune suppressant 11. When the surgeons insist on using something outside of dermabond glue and vicryl 2.0 suture 12. Participant refusal to give consent to partake in the study

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Participant need for breakthrough analgesia immediately post-operation till discharge using daily subjective pain score VAS and skin wound cosmesis at 6th weeks post-operation

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
Total time for the surgery, time spent in closing the skin, duration of hospital stay after Caesarean section, wound infection, wound breakdown and overall participants satisfaction with the wound cosmesis.
